The beer is a drink known all over the world, one of the oldest and also one of the most consumed by the population. Who doesn’t like getting together with friends, family or a couple and having a good conversation with a beer in hand?
Given the great interest (and consumption) of this drink, no wonder it has managed to carve out a place for itself among the international days, those days that seek to commemorate a product, event or milestone, and that day is today: On August 5, International Beer Day is celebrated.
The idea honor this drink appeared in 2007 in a small bar in Santa Cruz, California (USA). Jesse Avshalomov, Evan Hamilton, Aaron Araki and Richard Hernandez were drinking beers when the initiative arose: “We decided that there had to be a day to celebrate all things beer, to thank all the people who produce and provide our favorite drink,” says Avshalomov, one of the day’s creators, on the International Beer Day website.
“We invented International Beer Day, we convinced our trusted bar to celebrate it on August 5thwe made the website, we thanked the beer industry and had a great time,” he says. But it didn’t stop there: soon after, the group of friends who had invented a day that had not been celebrated to receive messages from others who had heard of his story and who had chosen to celebrate it also in their country.
Since, 15 years ago, have worked each year to make International Beer Day go beyonduntil reaching in 2022 that this day is celebrated in more than a hundred different places in the world.
What is the origin of beer?
The famous drink was born in Mesopotamia, It is estimated that around the year 4000 BC. The earliest evidence of beer is a carved tablet in which three people are seen around a table sharing a vessel of what was believed to be beer.
the first recipe to brew beer was found in the Code of Hammurabi, oldest surviving set of laws.
Its creation was never intentional, rather accidental, they mixed water with grain (barley) and got what they considered a concoction. The procedure they performed was to moisten the bread with water and yeast, thus fermenting the mixture which turned it into an alcoholic drink.
